FPT INDUSTRIAL TO ACQUIRE DOLPHIN N2 STARTUP TO DEVELOP DISRUPTIVEPOWERTRAIN TECHNOLOGY
bodohann, 10:05h
FPT Industrial, brand of CNH Industrial dedicated to the design, production and saleof powertrains for on and off-road vehicles, marine and power generation applications, announced its agreement to acquire 100% of Dolphin N2, a spin-out companyfrom Ricardo, specialized in an innovative internal combustion engine technology.
With this acquisition, FPT Industrial aims to advance this expertise, substantiallyincreasing fuel efficiency while reducing operating costs and CO2 emissions, startingfrom long-haul trucks and other heavy-duty applications, but also extendable to otherindustrial segments with a complete power range. This technology will also be suitablefor all fuels, with ad hoc configuration for liquid fuel and gas applications.
“The powertrain industry increasingly needs evolution in terms of efficiency andrespect to the environment, and this agreement will enable us to provide ultra-efficientand ultra-low emissions solutions, in the beginning focused on heavy-dutyapplications.”, said Annalisa Stupenengo, CEO of FPT Industrial. “The co-joineddevelopment of this disruptive technology, to join soon our portfolio, will lead a fastershift from the concept to a commercial level. This acquisition complements our al-ternative propulsion investments, which are part both of our mission as a sustainablesolution provider and of our goal to be a full-line player with the most advancedtechnologies in all industrial fields.”
